Sutton School Pastors have been operating in three Sutton schools since
2012 working alongside the teaching staff in supporting young people who find themselves navigating the transition into High School; supporting young people figuring out character building and identity.
Our School Pastors work in groups and 1:1s with young people, listening, caring and helping them along the ‘growing road’. Being a young person in Higher Education is full of encouragement and challenge and some need extra assistance in finding their way. Its a bit like the old fairy tale of Goldilocks and her three bears. Searching for the right size chair to enable us to grow and become all that we are made to be. Our School Pastors seek to create safe places for students to find the right size chair, by listening, caring and helping.
I am so grateful for Street/School Pastoring for giving me these deeply satisfying opportunities.
Looking at How to face challenges Head on by making sure we get enough

Another old favourite children’s story also comes to mind ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’…which is also about facing the immediate challenge ahead. The story which includes
We can’t go over it. We can’t go under it.
We’ve got to go through it!
