One of Sutton Job Club’s greatest delights is to see people brought together and friendships formed.
Sutton Job Club isn’t just about CV writing and interview skills, it’s also about building confidence and encouraging those who come to discover gifts and skills that they have already. These can be shared with others in a variety of forms.
During 2017 a lovely gentleman called Steve came back to the Job Club for a second time, whilst there he shared his story with the group, which encouraged the Job Club co-ordinator greatly.
‘January 2017 dawned grey and cold and what of the sunny parts, well I formed a friendship with Alan, as a result we decided to get an allotment together’. Alan sits and directs and Steve does the digging and planting. They have grown all manner of vegetables this year. The doctors have finally been able to help Alan and he is due to have an operation on his pelvis this winter. You may recall that Alan was a builder who broke his pelvis in three places.
